Hi, we are Robert & Rachael, the proud owners of Creative Acres! We are Wisconsin natives from the suburbs of Milwaukee that decided to leave suburbia and find greener pastures…literally. After brainstorming a list of our forever home goals, we started looking for property to grow the vision. In 2019 we found our 100-year-old farmhouse on 25 acres in Shawano, WI. We spent many months renovating, cleaning, landscaping, constructing, and researching to find the right people to help us create our dream.
After running in the rat race for many years and reaching the stress limit, we were fortunate to give it up to start a new life in the country. Rachael worked as a pharmacy technician and substitute teacher. She was also a summer school art teacher in Hartford, WI. She has always had a love of antiques and thrift shops, as well as decorating and teaching art to kids! Now she has her online store, selling vintage quilts and other finds.
As for me, I drive a truck for a living regionally, while trying to learn how to garden and farm. Initially, we bought the farm because I wanted it to be a place to raise pastured animals for food. The dream is for Creative Acres to be an Incubator / Collaborating farm where others can come and learn how to raise their food. Farm stays are a possibility for the future as well.
We've been together for almost ten years. Over the last three years, we've done our best to give more life to this 100-year-old farmhouse with the help of others. We enjoy caring for our two cats, Milo and Leo, and our family of chickens and four steers. We love cooking meals and sitting outside on our deck, enjoying a nice country sunset with a glass of wine. We also love attending many of the community events Shawano offers and consider it home now.
Thanks for visiting!
